Shelley has a decade of editorial experience and is a former reporter who covered the business of healthcare at The Tennessean, Nashville’s daily newspaper. While there, she won Tennessee Press Association and Green Eyeshade awards for her work on healthcare reform and the opioid crisis.
Before joining The Tennessean in 2013, DuBois wrote for Fortune Magazine in New York. She has also worked as a producer for National Public Radio’s weekly radio show Science Friday.
DuBois graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a degree in biological anthropology and a minor in Spanish literature. She earned a master’s degree from New York University’s Science, Health and Environmental Reporting program in 2009.
